NOLL-SOLL‘s 30th Anniversary Opening Day festivities will commence this Saturday, 2/26, rain, shine or (SNOW!) at Skyline High School. Event organizers have an amazing day planned so come on down between 10-2.

Sound Athletics will be there, and we have donated free training sessions that will be raffled off towards the end of the day’s events. There will be other prizes donated by local baseball camps and instructors. All of the proceeds will go directly to NOLL-SOLL’s operations.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Overall a great day! Thank you to everyone who made it possible. Biggest thanks to Aidan Mcnulty and the Mcnulty family!!! Amazing to see Aidan out there yesterday.. a true inspiration!!

We are very pleased to announce the formation of a new group dedicated to the advancement of young athletes in Northern California. Sound Athletics will provide one-on-one training designed to instill the skills necessary to elevate aspiring athletes.  It is our belief that positive experience in athletics transcends sport, and creates a platform to succeed in all aspects of life. With that, we would like to thank you for welcoming Sound Athletics to your community!

SA Core Values:

  • We are passionate about improving each athlete’s performance by teaching proven fundamental technique, and philosophy.
  • We believe that positive experience in athletics transcends sport and creates a platform to succeed in all aspects of life.
  • Sports are a physical endeavor, but athletic achievement is as much about attitude as it is natural ability. We will cultivate the young athlete’s approach to sport.
  • Although our teaching is one-on-one, we never lose sight of TEAM. We are teaching the skills necessary to be the best TEAM-MATE possible.
  • We believe there is a LEADER in every athlete, and we work hard to uncover this integral quality.
  • Being a young athlete is stressful! We aim to build confidence in our athletes, and spin any negativity into positive energy.

SA Training Platform:

  • We deliver high energy one-on-one coaching for the aspiring athlete in Football, Baseball and Basketball.
  • Our training begins with a player evaluation to help us better understand the profile of the athlete.
  • Dynamic private practice sessions are tailored to each athlete’s skill level and goals.
  • “Position” specific training is available in all sports. From Quarterback to the Low Post, we have it covered with time tested fundamental drills, along with newer trends impacting youth athletics.
  • Speed, Agility, Core & Weight Training also available.
  • We include emailed progress reports after each session and incorporate video footage when necessary.
  • Our program embraces all skill levels. Whether the athlete is highly skilled or a beginner, we will find the most appropriate way to make a positive impact.
  • Each athlete will be taught the skill of visualization in their approach to sport.
  • Small group sessions available upon request
  • Ages 8 – 16

Mirror Mirror

If you are around one of my coaching sessions, you will no doubt here me preaching about your favorite mirror at home. Don’t be alarmed. This is not attempt to build vanity in the athlete! Truth is that there are a bevy of important techniques in sport that can be worked on, and perfected, with 15 minutes in front of your mirror at home each day.

Attached is a solid instructional hitting video for you to enjoy. Go ahead and take 3 or 4 lessons out of it, and jump in front of the mirror. If it were me I would start with the balanced stance with your feet slightly wider than shoulder width. I would work on the “load” to your back leg when the pitcher breaks his hands and also the explosion to the ball with a slight stride.
